In 2002 we started work on the golf course at St. Andrews Beach on the Mornington Peninsula with Tom Doak. It was one of two projects we worked on with Tom – the other being Barnbougle Dunes in Tasmania. I was lucky enough to be involved through the design and construction process. An amazing and valuable experience for someone barely into their twenties.
During the early phase of the development the client wanted something different to help sell memberships. The pencil rendering included the course routing and some artistic impressions of selected holes.
Like the course guides I have moved toward watercolour for most of my full course renderings and more recently have completed course renderings for Royal Melbourne, Lake Karrinyup, and Millbrook Golf Club for the 2017 New Zealand Open.
