About This Project

Golf has some great half way houses….Sunningdale, Maidstone, Ben’s Porch at Sandhills, Chicago and Olympic (courtesy of their famous burger dog rather than the building), but my favourite has to be Pine Valley.

Set between the 8th and 12th holes the old water tower was renovated long ago to provide a quirky pitstop for those lucky enough to be members (or know someone that is). I was one of those lucky people back in 2012. The painting itself focusses on the top section of building, which I was drawn to thanks to the curious bird boxes and the shade cast by the surrounding trees.

If you manage to get a game, take some time to admire this fabulous building….and even better stop to enjoy the signature dish…snapping turtle soup. Just don’t skimp on the sherry.
