O nce upon a time the course guides I did were just for me. Tournaments I played as an amateur didn’t always have much information available and so on the practice days I’d usually make some notes, do a green sketch of one of the trickier complexes or measure a few distances.
As I got into design and started drawing a little more, the sketches I did became popular with some clients. One of them, Richard Sattler of Barnbougle Dunes, asked me whether I could do a course guide. So this was my first ‘commercial’ version, which is still popular 15 years later.
